Margaret Blackwood, from East Sussex, is one of many customers of our Careline Alarms UK. Since the passing of her husband, Derek in 2005, Margaret has lived alone. Although she has arthritis in her hip, she is very independent and enjoys getting out with her three grandchildren. Her hip means that she is less mobile than she used to be and her independence was challenged by this in the spring of 2011.

How do Careline alarms work?

The alarm works by using your existing landline telephone connection. When you push the alarm pendant it dials our UK based care team, who will respond almost immediately. The monitoring team will then talk to you over the loudspeaker to understand the situation and your needs.
Then they can take appropriate action to contact either friends, family, carers, neighbours or, if necessary, the emergency services.
