Introducing the Fall Detector Pendant from Careline

Most falls don’t result in an injury of any kind, but even if they don’t they can result in an elderly person losing confidence in themselves whilst they are in their own home.

Introducing the Fall Detector Pendant from Careline

Fall detector pendants are ideal for anyone who is prone to falling, especially those who live by themselves. We offer a life-saving fall detector pendant that comes with 24/7 support from our Care Team.

Shockingly, one in three people over the age of 65 who live alone in the UK will have at least one fall a year – with around half of these people suffering from multiple falls. To keep yourself or your elderly loved ones safe, consider setting up a fall alarm.

How does a Fall Detector Pendant Work?

When you receive your fall pendant, all you need to do is wear it around your neck with the cord provided. The pendant is water-resistant, which means you can wear it in the shower or in the bath – where falls are more likely.

A fall pendant contains a clever sensor which is programmed to the wearer’s height. This allows the pendant to detect when the wearer has suffered a fall. The fall pendant will automatically trigger your Careline alarm, sending an instant alert to our Care Team. They will speak to you over the loudspeaker system and take the appropriate action, either by calling your emergency contacts to come and help you or by sending for an ambulance if needed.

Extra Safety Features

The fall detector pendant also features a help button, which you can press at any time to call for assistance. Our Care Team will be on hand 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to help you. Don’t worry if you ever press the button by accident. We are always happy to hear from you and it will go down as a useful test of your device.

If your fall alarm doesn’t detect any movement for seven days, then it will send an automatic message to the Care Team – just so we can make sure that everything is okay.

The Risks of Falling

Thankfully, most falls don’t result in an injury of any kind. However, there are often emotional consequences. A fall can really damage an older person’s confidence, causing them and their relatives to worry about them living independently.

By having access to a fall alarm, the user gains confidence in themselves and their ability to live independently, as they know that help is always there should they suffer from a fall in their home. A fall detector alarm can put friends and family at ease too – if anything happens, they’ll be notified straight away.
