Key Safes give your home extra security

Careline365 isn’t just a national provider of personal alarms, we also have a selection of Key Safes for you to choose from. Key Safes work brilliantly alongside our personal alarms but they are also great for protecting your home against any potential intruders.

This guide will take you through all of the advantages of owning a Key Safe and it will explain how they work perfectly alongside our alarms.

What are Key Safes?

Key Safes are small boxes that can be fixed to an external wall of your property. Some people have them fixed by the back door, whilst others choose their front door… depending on which they use more often.

These storage boxes have been designed to hold your house keys behind a secure combination lock. During the set-up of the Key Safe, the user will choose a unique code – which should only be passed on to the people who they want to gain access to their home.

All of our Key Safes are weather resistant and come with all the essential fittings. Different Key Safes can store more keys than others and the decision comes down to the user’s preference – or how many spare keys they have.

Extra Security

The main purpose of a Key Safe is to improve the security of your home. With a Key Safe installed you can simply leave your spare keys in there rather than leaving them underneath a plant pot of the doormat.

Criminals are aware that this does happen and could take a chance on your property by checking these locations for keys. This situation is common when the elderly leave keys for their family or close friends to use in order to get into the house.

Without the code, nobody can gain access to your house keys. This fact alone helps many elderly and disabled residents to regain their confidence and it also gives them a sense of safety. It is important that everybody can feel safe and secure in their own home.

Keys Safes and Personal Alarms

Keys Safes work brilliantly alongside our personal alarms and they could end up making all the difference in an emergency. Many of our customers add Key Safes to their order once they find out how well they work together.

If you have a Careline Alarm all you need to do in an emergency is press the red button on your pendant. This sends an alert through to our 24/7 Care Team, who will assess the situation before making calls to the user’s emergency contacts and the emergency services if they are required. This is where the Key Safe comes into play.

If the user has suffered from a fall and can’t make it to the door, how will the paramedics gain entry to the property? The same question is posed if the emergency contacts don’t have a key. When you order a Key Safe from Careline365 we take a copy of your combination code so that we can pass this on in an emergency.

With a Key Safe all the paramedics would need to do is open the secure box, take your keys and open the door. The minutes or even seconds saved by doing this could end up being life-saving.

Without a Key Safe help may be unable to get inside your home and your property may need to be damaged in order to get to you.
