Changing Seasons – What To Look Forward To
Changing season, from to Summer to Autumn, can be somewhat a sad time for many. The evenings slowly draw in and the mornings are darker, the clocks will go back and the luscious green leaves fade and start to fall. That Summer feeling is lost, and the weather soon starts to change.

This period of moving from Summer to Autumn shouldn't be a negative time however, as with Autumn comes plenty of perks.

Cosy Nights In

Part of Autumn/Winter that many people enjoy is the cosying up indoors, watching great television and movies when it's cold outside. You might miss those long evenings, where you could sit out on the patio with a of glass wine and the sun shining down, but the nights spent on the sofa with a blanket and a snack or two, with a hot chocolate or cuppa tea are just as good.

Some exciting Autumn/Winter Dramas to come on our television screens include the likes of Gunpowder staring Game of Thrones star, Kit Harrington, Top of the Lake, and Strike. We also have the return of Doctor Foster on the BBC, a hit series which achieved millions of views in it's first series.

Hearty Food

Another aspect of the changing seasons to look forward to is the warm hearty food! Forget about the salads and BBQ's, it's time to start thinking stews, roast dinners, pies and pasta dishes. Because the Autumn and Winter months in the UK are often quite cold and wet we crave warm meals and hearty meals with lots of nutrients to defend ourselves against catching colds.

There's plenty of recipes available online to get ideas and also thousands of restaurants with juicy menus this autumn/winter. We recently wrote about senior restaurant discounts, which is worth checking out if your going to be dining out lots this coming fall!

Some great recipes to make the transition include:

Seasonal Festivities

Another element to look forward to is all the events just around the corner, including Halloween, Bonfire Night, Black Friday and of course Christmas.

Some of you might despise such festivities, but others find this the most exciting time of the year with lots of activities and events going on and a time to get together with family and friends and celebrate.

New Fashion Favourites

I don't know about you, but I love Autumn and Winter clothing. A nice thick, cozy winter jumper wins any day for me over t-shirts and shorts - if the summer weather was nice enough to wear those in the first instance. With the transition of Summer to Autumn, the high street retailers and online stores will be well under way selling their new Autumn/Winter fashion lines.

Some of the many trends hitting the high streets this season include bold reds, suiting with a focus on grey check, words of encouragement, forties blues, return of the high waist, and soft leather.

You can see all this upcoming seasons trends and catwalks fashion via the British Vogue gallery.
